Westshore, Edgewood Top Brevard High Schools According to U.S. News and World Report

COCOA BEACH JR./SR. HIGH, VIERA HIGH ALSO HIGHLY RANKED IN FLORIDA

According to the U.S. News and World Report Best High School rankings, Westshore Jr./Sr. High School was judged the third best in Florida, and 58th nationally. Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School was ranked 10th in Florida and 105th nationally.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – U.S. News & World Report unveiled the 2021 Best High Schools which ranks more than 17,800 public high schools throughout the country, measuring how well schools serve students from various social and economic backgrounds.

Brevard Public Schools once again are making the grade with four high schools schools ranked in the top 100.

According to the U.S. News and World Report Best High School rankings, Westshore Jr./Sr. High School was judged the third best in Florida, and 58th nationally. Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School was ranked 10th in Florida and 105th nationally.

Also making the list was Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High School, which was ranked 68th in Florida and 1,210 nationally and Viera High School came in at 73rd in Florida and 1,265 nationally.

The U.S. News rankings include data on public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia.

The methodology focuses on six factors: college readiness, reading and math proficiency, reading and math performance, underserved student performance, college curriculum breadth and graduation rates.

College readiness specifically measures participation and performance on Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate exams. The data used in this edition is from the 2018-2019 academic school year, and therefore was not affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
